Early 20th c. Manual tobacco processing in
the upper floor of a tobacco warehouse in
Kavala. On the floor, solemn figures focused
on their work. At the windows pairs of men
workers, high in the hierarchy, are enjoying
the privilege of the sunlight. Women and
girls are flattening the leaves with their
more delicate hands, heads facing their
laps. No woman looks at the camera. Αρχές

στον τελευταίο όροφο καπναποθήκης της
Καβάλας. Στο πάτωμα, μορφές σοβαρές,
συγκεντρωμένες στη δουλειά τους. Στα
παράθυρα απολαμβάνουν το προνόμιο
του ηλιακού φωτός ζευγάρια ανδρών,
εργάτες ανώτεροι στην ιεραρχία. Γυναίκες
και κορίτσια, με χέρια πιο λεπτά, στρώνουν
σκυφτές τα φύλλα στην ποδιά τους. Καμιά
τους δεν κοιτάζει το φακό.
